Marisa Bierenfeld,

Speech Therapist

Marisa is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who earned her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Seton Hall University and holds both New Jersey and Washington, DC speech-language pathology licenses. Marisa has a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a member of the New Jersey Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NJSHA). 

Her professional experience includes providing in-person and teletherapy services within private practice, as well as school-based therapy working with students pre-k to high school grade level. She also has some experience serving adults in skilled nursing facilities treating swallowing disorders and cognitive disorders. Currently, she works at a public charter school in Newark. 

Marisa has clinical strengths in speech sound disorders, language development, and early communication skills that support academic and social success. She is Level 1 PROMPT trained and incorporates evidence-based, hands-on techniques to support motor-based speech needs. Marisa has also completed entry-level American Sign Language classes at Gallaudet University, allowing her to support multimodal and total communication approaches. 

Marisa values a child-centered, engaging approach to therapy and believes that empowering caregivers is a key component of successful outcomes. When she’s not working, Marisa enjoys traveling the world and experiencing new cultures.
