Christine Furando,
MS, CCC-SLP
Speech Therapist
Christine is a NJ licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist who received her Master of Science degree in communication disorders from William Paterson College in 1995. She is a devoted, compassionate and results-oriented therapist who enjoys making a positive impact on a client’s life. She has experience working with the pediatric to geriatric populations in private practices, hospital outpatient and skilled nursing facilities. Christine had found her true passion in working with children during her employment in early intervention services which prompted her to seek employment in the Waldwick School District where she has been for 27 years.
Christine has extensive experience working with children of all needs such as ADD/ADHD, cognitive impairments, auditory processing disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia of speech, myofunctional disorders, disfluency, receptive and expressive language disorders, autism and pragmatic language disorders. Christine encourages family involvement so they understand the individualized goals created for their child and learn strategies they can use to support their child’s developing skill every day to increase generalization of the skill beyond the therapeutic setting. Her approach centers on incorporating play-based activities to create motivating and enjoyable sessions the child will look forward to and believes that a happy, engaged child can only flourish.
Christine enjoys relaxing with a good book, spending time with her 3 cats, horseback riding, watching movies and traveling overseas or doing day trips with her family.
